The Hunger Games is one of the best movies EVER! It was interesting, and I love that the main character is so strong, determined, and independent. The Hunger Games is originally a book, but I watched the movies, not all of them, just some of them, but I'm able to get an idea of what happens.
In the world in which the game Hunger Games takes place every year, there are twelve poor Districts, that have to live life harshly. Katniss, the main character live in District 12. Every person in each of the twelve districts starting at the age of twelve, have to participate in possibly getting chosen to play the Hunger Games.
Before I move on with the story let me explain what the Hunger Games is. The Hunger Games is a game in which all the people who are playing have to fight for death, and the last person alive wins. They are put in the virtual world, but the players are very real, which the workers of the Hunger Games can control and manipulate. People of the richer world say that they were doing it for peace between the Districts, but that obviously wasn't it at all. Now continuing with the story.
It was Katniss' younger sister's first time having to participate in the picking of the contestants of the Hunger Games. And, what do you know, Katniss' younger sister got picked. Katniss did not want her sister to possibly die, so she decided to volunteer instead. Now instead of her sister having to compete in the game, it was Katniss herself.
Katniss wasn't completely alone though. The Hunger Game picks two people from each District to compete, one female, and one male, so she had a bit of a friend with her.
Fast forward to when the Hunger Game starts. Some people are teaming, but in the end, will have to kill each other. They are in a jungle, with many dangerous plants insects, and many other things. Katniss is able to survive towards the end, sadly losing a friend in the process.
Then the Hunger Games announce that this year two people from the same district are able to win if they worked together. So Katniss and her district buddy decide to work together, only until after they won they changed the rules back to there only being one winner. Katniss and her friend decided if both o them couldn't win, none of them could win. They were both getting ready to eat poison berries that would kill the immediately once they ate them. That's when they declared that they were both winners because if they both killed themselves, people of the rich would get bored easily, and no one seemed to want that.
The story still continues though, this is really just what happens in the first movie.
