The Legends of the Sky is a fantastic book that I believe everyone should read at some point!
The main character, Milla, doesn't know who her family is or where she came from. All she knows was that around the age of two, or so they guessed, she was picked up by some second descendant Norlanders, or people of high class, to work as their servant at their house which they called the Yellow House. Since Milla didn't have a last name she went by the name Milla Yellowhouse.
Just because she was a servant, didn't mean that she was treated poorly. All she needed to do was do the chores for the master of the household and take care of his children, which are two twins, Isak and Tarya. Their mom is the one that found Milla when she was around the age of two, but soon after died.
Milla always had a great friendship with the twins, and because of this was always envied by another servant in the household, Lasnys. Lanys always tried her hardest to get Milla in trouble or would always boss Milla around. Luckily though, Milla had other friends that she can turn to besides the twins.
Milla, one day while sitting up in an orange tree, witnessed a murder. A man hides a bag up in the tree, not noticing that Milla was there, and then he was murdered by a masked assassin. The assassin soon got chased away by Nestan, the master of the house, and wasn't seen since.
Milla eventually looked inside the bag to find very big eggs. They were really big, like so big that they couldn't belong to any bird that she might've known of. There was only another thing that it could've possibly belonged to, dragons.
On the island of Arcosi, long ago, lived real dragons. But, they somehow vanished or disappeared. Apparently, though, dragons were soon supposed to come back to Arcosi, and this might've been it.
Milla went through a lot during this book, but one of the biggest things was finding out her own hidden past.
I definitely recommend this book!
