Have you ever read or heard of a story with no happy ending whats-so-ever. Well, if you haven't then you should read this book. It is called "A Series of Unfortunate Events." The book actually became so popular that they made a tv show of it and you can watch it on Netflix.
Just telling by the name, I bet you can guess this story doesn't have a great beginning. Three siblings, who are the main characters, hear that their parents died from a fire burning down their HUGE mansion. They lived in first class and were beyond rich. After that, they had to live with a good friend of the family. Even though they were okay with the friend Mr. Poe coming over to their house, they didn't like the idea of having to live with them and their two utterly demonic children. And on top of that Mr. Poe is in charge of who they will live with. obviously with the Poe family having enough members they weren't going to add another three on top of that. So, Mr. Poe was in search of a new family the siblings can stay. He was also in charge of the family fortune. The oldest sibling once comes of age, would be able to claim this fortune, but she was only fourteen and had quite a long time to wait for that.
Eventually, Mr. Poe was able to find them a home with a not-so-close relative of theirs. His name was Count Olaf. Count Olaf was not a very nice man. If anything he basically abused them, making them do really hard chores, striking them across their face, he even tried to MARRY the oldest sibling so he could be in charge of the family fortune. I mean an old man trying to marry a fourteen-year-old, not happening.
They have to go through a bunch of other adventures as well. This is only one of all the unfortunate events that has happened to these kids.
